Hi Iain: The performance difference between the S9 and S10 has been debated since the beginning. Many (but not all) of us believe there there is no measureable difference in performance at the same power and weight. I would suggest that it is a matter of fit. Find and example of each and sit in them for a while. I personally find the S10's extra few inches very useful when flying solo. I don't think there is any difference in strenght of the two frames. G's loading is inversly proportional to weight, so you can safely pull fewer G's at 800 pounds than at 700 pound. So be careful pulling a lot of G at high weights.
