Hi Karl, I recently finished the exhaust installation on my S9. At first sight, I could not make the straight rotax pipe with the standard 90 degree elbow fit. To be honest, I must tell that I failed to observe the correct orientation of the "Y" manifold..! This manifold should be pointing upwards. (as per instructions in the Rans assembly manual.) I never came that far, since I in the meantime decided to fabricate my own 90° bend. So I can use the "Y" manifold facing down, and that brings the entire straigt rotax exhaust nicely in line with the fuselage. Note that the straight manifold needs to be altered a bit for this installation, this in order to make it fit and "to stay in tune". So Karl, that still leaves you with your question unanswered, but I told you my story since I believe this would offer a good solution if you stil would have problems making the standard straight rotax exhaust fit your fuselage... Best regards, Frans.
